Belly Dancing: The Fun Way to Exercise

Belly dancing is lots of fun and great exercise! Dancers will talk of the history,
spiritual connection and roots, the community of dance here in the state, show off some costumes, demonstrate some moves, and look for active participation. Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to find out how your own body responds to this most ancient of arts. Kahaz Sinnaur (Kitty Tambling) began dancing with the Desert Dancers in Bangor 25 years ago. She performs, teaches, and sponsors
workshops with other teachers in the Bangor area.

These Feet are Made for Walking: Common Foot Problems and the Role Footwear Can Play

Dr. Corbin will provide us with information about our feet that many of us are not aware of. He will talk about the healthy foot as well as some of the problems we may face, even if we are "good to our feet." This session is for everyone, whether we run, play tennis, walk, have diabetes, or have senior feet.

Self Defense for Women

Join Allison Bankston for a seminar on self-protection through awareness,
strategies, and physical movements. "Self defense isn't just punching and
kicking," says Bankston, who's been studying martial arts for years through the Y's Tae Kwon Do and Shaolin Kempo systems. "it's about knowing your own strengths, being aware of dangers, and learning how to get away from an attacker without causing further injury to yourself." You'll get practical suggestions and take-home information and learn realistic, easy-to-remember moves that could, one day, save your life. Allison Bankston teaches the Y's Women's Self Defense program available several times a year.

Eastern Agency on Aging:
What You Need to Know!

Eastern Agency on Aging will hold a panel discussion on topics related to aging, including senior nutrition, senior housing, minor home repair, Medicare Part D and caregiving. Eastern Agency on Aging experts will also be on hand to answer questions about the services available to seniors in the community.
